I hate kids who irresponsibly flash those red laser pointers around without any care to anyone else's eyesight. I pray that no parent buys one of these for their kids. Cool gadget, but should only be used in the hands of experts.

Although Ryan gave a very artistic rendition on uses of a green laser pointer, I would have to agree with you regarding irresponsible use of green laser pointers.

That laser was pretty impressive. However dealing with a job that has at least one ashat with a laser per night, I think I hate those things as much as anyone. At the Live Outdoor Theatre I manage at people always think it's fun to shine lasers in the actors eyes, we even had an actor partially lose eye sight one year during a play because of some ass hat.

Since the audience is usually about 4,000+ it's hard to pin point the user. . but when we do they get to spend the night in jail because it is illegal and considered "Assault" if you bend it the right way :D

Those were some really cool lasers, but too cool to be safe (or even legal) i think.

I can see this being a useful Army tool. I cant think of anything exact at the moment, but the visible laser light could help as a less noticeable SOS signal.

Don't think that part was real. Seemes like the laser is only visible if there is smoke / dust around.
In some parts, you cant see the beam. The balloon part and the match lighting part for example.

Ok, ok, time for story time with "The Gunny".....

Back in 1998 when I was stationed in Camp Schwabb, Okinawa, we (a bunch of us Sergeants, buck Sergeant to you Gunther) had gotten ahold of a very nice laser pointer. We used to get drunk in the barracks and shine our laser on the barracks's duty NCO's behind ours. Of course, they didn't know what to make of it, other than the fact they were getting lased! Of course, this went over like a fart in church so a few days later, we were berrated by our 1st Sergeant over acting like Marines and not like idiots!! Well, of course we went back to doing what we did best, pissing off the the non-division paper pushers and continued lasing these guys. Well, after about three weeks of having the REACT team (special platoon attached to the MP's on base to respond to crisis) called on us and the barracks infiltrated by these guys looking for guns, lasers, etc....we stopped, for about 1 week. Long story short...lasers are fun, except when being weilded by drunk guys!!! Enjoy!
