Fired and hired in the same day!

A place to just hang out.

Fired and hired in the same day!

Basically the company I work at was purchased a year ago and I hate the new owners. So finally in January I said "Fuck it, I'm looking for a new job". Well I had a couple phone interviews with a promising new company, went in today for a face to face interview and I nailed it, and by nailded it I mean they told me to expect an offer letter that afternoon :)
Well I got the offer letter at 3:30 (only 4 hours after I left) and was pretty stoked. So I decided to talk to my wife about it and not make a decision untill tomorrow.
So far a pretty nice day, I get a call from corporate. And wtf it's the douchebag CEO (who is being indicted for fraud from his last company no less). Long bunch of bullshit streams from his mouth, basically our office is being cut off, we're out of a job as of today.
I laugh, which I think disturbs him and wish him well with the feds and tell him I hope his prison term is too...lonely (wink wink, get it! I'm f'n hillarious)

I have to chalk this one up to my good Karma!
Gotta talk to the new company tomorrow to see if they want me to start sooner now :)

I figured you guys would like this. I woke up today happier than I've been in months because I no longer have to deal with these assholes!
On an even better note the other engineer here in what was our Philly office who was also canned decided to open his own business, so today I went out to visit my clients to let them know what happened and to inform them of John's (the other engineer) new business and that if they would like to contact him I would be happy to supply them with the information (gotta love the sneaky ways around non-compete clauses!). Not 1 client has stayed with the old company. Every one of them has stated that they wouldn't be caught dead staying with the old company. One of our clients said "You guys have bailed my ass out of the fire too many times, I'd follow you guys anywhere"
The old company has no f'n clue how to build relationships and think that they will simply start using low cost contractors to service our client base, they just never have been able to understand that when you personally go out of your way to take care of your clients they couldn't care less what company you work for they are with you not the company logo on your card.
I'm spending the next week or so untill I start my new job as salesman for John so that he has as many clients as possible for his solo adventure :)
My goal is to have every single one of our clients signed up so that our old company has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! :)

Right on floobie.... more power to you. Building relationships is so important in buisness so many companies just don't get it. Teach them a lesson please.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY
Its all about the Green Backs...

I've seen companies build a great reputation (Home Depot) for customer Service and build to enormous size only to switch up mid stream. When the original three HD owners sold their company to stock holders and appointed Bob Nardelli as CEO, they shit the bed. They stopped paying their people the great wages of the 80's and 90's and started taking anyone with no experience off the street paying $11 and $12/hour. Customer service went the route of lip service and exists only in a few rare situations. As the older employees retire off, it will be gone for good.

GO LOWES!!! :)

Good for you Floobie!! o/
