Farewell Polaroid
My Grandfather used an old polaroid land camera like the one in the picture to take family photos, when my father started his family he bought the same model back in the late 60s and pretty much every picture from my childhood is recorded in glorious, white bordered polaroid. The funny accordion-like camera was a fixture at every family gathering or holiday and I remember being amazed as we watched the images slowly appear as if by magic, those sensations bring the moments back as much as the pictures themselves do. Both my Grandfather's camera and my Father's came down to me and I've used both over the years, not as much as I would have liked due to the expense and rarity of the Polaroid 100 film, but that film elicits as much wonder and anticipation now as it did all those years ago.
I'll miss Polaroid's instant film, it truly is like losing a piece of my own childhood.
