My dad just got back from Iraq about a month ago and I'm heading down to his house next week. We're going to be looking at cars and by the way he hinted on the phone, a new computer too. He guessed a good new computer would run $3000, and asked about Alienwares...

Lets see... Not bad, but how many ways will I have you beat?
Hmmm...
Processor for me = 3.4GHz = Tie with basic on that
Power Supply = 650W = > Better than Alienware
Motherboard = ASUS = > Better
Memory = 2GB = > Better + Cheaper
Graphics = Radeon 9800 = < Worse, but I don't care, its good for what I need
HDD = 1x 80 GB, 1x 160, 2x 120 = > Much bigger
DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW = Same
Sound = Same
Overall, I'm getting better, for probably $500 (or more) cheaper. Woohoo!
You have fun with your alienware. I'll have fun with my monster PC

Save your money Tack!!!!!!!! You could do so much more for WAY less money!!! If it's the name you want that's fine and you want to piss away $3000 Check out the notebooks from Alienware, but for a PC... dude it's just a big wate of money. Oh .... you could always just buy a case

Hehe I love it when someone with a good computer complains that they get less then 20fps during big lag, I average 14.4 fps just walking about in a Tower Attack.

It seems the newer your computer the worse it runs with PS. Seeing as how it still using derectx 7! 
Not a major factor, but it really doesn't help.
Edit: Tack for god sake don't buy that, unless it's not your money being used. In that case, go nuts.
