I'm having some problems with pop-ups and there was a program posted on the old forums awhile ago that I used that really helped but now I can't find it. Anyone know of any programs (free) that I could use? It was called Spy something and you deleted individual files

You thinking of Spybot-Search and Destroy and Adaware. They both find things that the other misses. They aren't for stopping popups though. They're used for anti-spyware and the like. Technically you just get the trail for free I believe, but it works and you get updates. Its been a while sense I got them so I don't remember the websites. Just type the names into google.

Actually both are free, adaware has a premium version but not sure what extras come with that.
adaware
spybot search and destrot
Both can stop pop ups if you are getting them due to spy ware infection, for instance, getting pop ups at sites you never did before, getting them at random even when not surfing, ect... for general pop up stoppin google toolbar seems to work very well though I don't think it is usable with firefox and it had some wonkiness with some IE shells like maxthon. google toolbar for bastards too lazy to search

SpyBot FTW, when i didnt have it installed for 5 days wouldn't u know i got a virus, and yeah the real trick is the pop up blocker, that will get rid of 90% of ur problems by itself.

Spybot doesn't detect viruses, just spyware. Personally I use both, adaware picks up some things that spybot will miss and vise versa.
