New Heat Sink :-)

Postby roadrunner » Fri Aug 05, 2005 4:05 pm

I was not happy with the 52 degree Celsius CPU temp after I upgraded my MB, RAM and CPU recently so I finally did something. Granted I was sloppy when I installed the stock heat sink that came with the CPU so it was probably my fault as much as a crappy stock HSF.

After lapping my new Thermaltake A1838 Silent Boost with 1000 grit sandpaper then polishing it, I was extremely careful to make sure no contaminates were introduced and followed the vendor recommendations on applying artic silver 5.

Well the short is that I am at 27 degrees Celsius idle and 34 max load. :smt045 :smt043 :smt042 :smt035

Time to overclock!!!!!!

Don't need any technical help just wanted to brag.

Good god 50 degrees, Rhonnin what are you doing to that poor computer?

I begin to worry when mine goes above 40.

Like a master chef...without all the cool tools. DroxEr and I both enjoy cooking very much.
