Mini Chaingun question

I've been killing alot of people with my newly aquired, much loved Mini Chaingun Well, not ALOT per-se, but more than usual. But here's my dillema. From a distance, it seems like I kill more people when I tap the mouse button instead of holding it down. Up close and personal, it feels like I kill more people by holding down the mouse. Is this correct?

Makes sense considering at a distance bloom will make the shots less accurate while up close even with bloom most shots may still hit even though accuracy is poor.

Yes... It turns out that spamming with the MCG = fail at distance!


Always fire in bursts at distance, when in close combat, fire in bigger bursts...

But what do I know, I'm a n00b.

When you're closer, there's a lot more meat that's open to be ripped into, so you pound the bullets in. As you get further away from your target, the bullets have more time to spread out as they travel towards intended target.

That is one aspect of PS that I can appreciate--that correctly replicates real life firearms. Fire semi or three round bursts at distance and full "Rock and Roll" when it is up close an personal.
