Face it Gunther, the Sox stink this year. Papelboner is overrated, Manny wants out, and Beckett will start getting the blisters and other pansy injuries that he gets during the year. :)

Really, they are doing pretty well right now. The only bump in their road will come if their pitching staff starts to struggle form injuries or just bad games. The Sox were on pace to score more than 200 less runs this year. Their offense seems to have stepped up a little bit, but overall, they are not nearly as effective as they were last year. That, more than anything else I believe, is the reason that Clemens will not go to the Red Sox. I don't think he will end up in Houston, as he wants a ring and they are struggling mightily right now. He could be effective on the Rangers, but I don't think that he would want to play on such a small field. That leaves one team; the Yankees. :)

The Tiger have been a level and up from everyone else. Everything has been going there way. But i don't think it will last that much longer. They are going to slide and probly slide hard into the all-star break then limp into the post season.
My take on it.

Randy Johnson had a good night (for once) and carried a no hitter for 5 2/3 inning against them today. They are the same team that the White Sox was last year; they have excellent starting pitching (especially from their young workhorse, Justin Verlander), a decent offense filled with a number of decent players and few stars, great defense, and a good bullpen. There is word that they might be trading Verlander and some other talent for Dontrelle Willis this year.

If they get the D train then they have a "face" for their organization and a story line if whether or not Willis can finally get it done.
