So what were others were steals or a big waste of a pick to everyone else?
The Bills wasted two picks in the first round. They could have traded down and gotten some more picks and still made off with the safety Donte Witner. They then traded up to get back into the first round and promptly drafted a second rounder (John McCargo). The Lions still should have drafted Leinart or Cutler, as both were on the board at the time of their pick and both would be a marked improvement over John Kitna (he's decent but old) or Josh McCown (he's not too great). The Redskins didn't have a great draft, but that was mostly because they traded their pick last year to get QB Jason Campbell (which was an awful move). Most of their improvements, however, were made in free agency. The last team to have a bad draft is Chicago. THey needed playmakers on offense, so they decided to trade out of the first round and draft 5 or 6 defensive players.
The Jets had a very good draft, and although they didn't get any big-name QB's, they have a strong line and an improving defensive secondary. I think that they should have sprung for Lendale White in the 2nd round, however. The 49ers had a good draft as well, getting an incredible TE (Vernon Davis) and a great LB/DE (Manny Lawson). They also managed to get some other good pickups later in the draft. The Cardnials made off like bandits.
