Tech Superstition?

Postby Socco » Mon Nov 27, 2006 6:55 pm

Hey everyone,

Is there anyone who seems to be a tech jinx in your family? My bro visited this weekend and...
-My wireless router began to crash randomly.
-His laptops wireless stopped working right before he came (unrelated to router problem).
-The power adapter on my laptop stopped working.
-The Xbox 360 died completely (overheated on rare occasion before).
-My printer has stopped picking up paper after he just left.

Now, I'm not one to be superstitious, but five electronic devices fail on the same weekend?

Oh, and he didn't touch said devices. He's technically competent too, it just seems that electronics don't like him :(

Everyone in my immediate family was born on a Wednesday except for my daughter--A Girl Friday. "Wednesdays' Children" are filled with woe and things break or go wrong for us constantly. Several of you may note that everytime I install something new, things get screwed up. After awhile you kind of get used to it and plan for things to get broken.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is bad karma for me. Every time I've tried installing it, it screwed up my graphics on all of my games. I've tried everything that I possibly know, nothing less than a reformat will fix my graphics problems. GTAIII and San Andreas work perfectly. I think Vice City was just a bad PS2 port.

My vice city when to shitsville: My game got corrupted and I could only turn left, and was perma-strafing left.

Yeah I'm going to have to pick up a copy for PS2 or Xbox, even though I'd much rather use keyboard/mouse.... I'm actually pretty good at driving with the keyboard now.

You guys disappoint me. The almighty speller himself makes a grammatical error and nobody points it out for him. FOR SHAME.

I noticed that, but I didn't want to say anything... Mainly because my spelling skills suck.
