nvidia vs intel Motherboards

Postby roadrunner » Tue Mar 06, 2007 9:58 am

I am going to bite the bullet and update my PC. I am switching to Intel after years of using AMD processors. I am targeting a Core 2 Duo but not sure about which chipset makes sense. I upgrade only every few years so I need something that while not the bleeding edge is high enough to provide good performance for a few years.

What chipset nvidea or intel provides good/high performance without a crazy price. I tend to go for features/stability instead of over-clocking capabilities.

Any thoughts out there?

975X is the best chipset i know of, Nvidia I have not tried. A 975X should last a few years and you should be able to upgrade to the next processor generation the Penryn if you get a good Asus board with 975X.

Thanks Red, I have been reading that the nvidia 680i is the king of the hill now in performance but its a little heavy on the $$$.
