Desktop to Laptop - Comments / Suggestions

Postby Tackalt » Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:19 pm

I'm preparing to get ready for college, as I ship out 2 JUL 2007, and I need to have a laptop ready for then. I've gotten confirmation from my parents that they do not need to keep my desktop at home, and I can sell it. A friend might buy it from school, but I doubt he has the money to fairly get it from me.

Anyone have any suggested prices for my desktop? Or a place to get the best out of auctioning it? I supposed eBay...

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.061219-0316)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Alienware
System Model: Alienware
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.60GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 7800 GTX
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC

And afterwards, I plan on getting another Alienware just because I don't have time to "build a cheaper one", and I want to make sure it's maximum efficiency. I've never had any troubles with my desktop, so I have confidence in Alienware.

Here's what I'm currently looking at. Customized from this core design: Click me.

What are you looking to get for it?
maybe someone here is interested. I would be because my wife could use an upgrade but, like your friend, it's unlikely I could make a fair offer on it being all unemployed and stuff. I'm pretty sure everyone else is rich though so someone might want it. :)

I love the laptop i got 2 years ago, and ir runs everything very nicely, all I had to do was buy a bit more ram and it is a nice machine . . .. however. . .I came to a sad realization that newer and newer games don't run on Laptop. Command and Conquer being one of them. I'm sure this is something that will happen more and more in the near future.

Other than that the jump to laptop is a great advancement.
