Does anyone play this game? I dl'd the demo from Fileplanet and it's really nice. The graphics are great and the game play is very free form. It's a nice change from the traditional rpg.
I'm trying to make a pirate hunter type character and I'm kinda hit or miss in that some scenarios I kick ass and other I get torn up. All things considered I've played it for only 2 days so I'm a big noob but it's fun.

I loved Eve, it's a really nice game. The only reason I'm not playing it now is because I don't have the money to spend on the sub.

I tried playing, but got to a point where I had to jump to a lot of places to get where I needed to go. One of the systems the auto-pilot jumped me to was like 0.0 space and I got podded in the first couple of seconds.

I was in a Corp on my way to get a really kick ass ship for mining because I was entry-level bitch. I got podded and decided not to waste anyone else's time. Very slow paced imo.

I have a demo disk of this in my PC magazine, so I'll install it tonight and give it a try.

I only ever got podded once, unfortunately it was way the hell out there so took me forever to get back to the starbase. It does have a bit of a learning curve compared to other games but well worth it IMO.

Yeah, I was doing real good and just upgraded to a destroyer with some kick-ass weapons when my next mission was sending me out to some far flung, high-risk sector to mine some rare ore. I got ambushed and podded while being told to wire them all my money or they would destroy my pod. I told them it was sent and it was all I had, that I was new to the game and they blew up my ship that I just paid for. They laughed at my meager 50,000 credits and blew up my pod, I uninstalled......

ROFL!

Grouping seems to be a real necessity in this game except for in the newbie zones.

I tried to play it again last night. For whatever reason I could not get into it.

I thought it was a really cool game, played the demo a while back. It was sorta like being a captain in Star Trek. Really cool, but I just couldn't see spending actual money on it.
