Guitar Hero and Rock Band

Postby Droxor » Mon Jun 25, 2007 12:54 am

So Red Octane has fled from their Guitar Hero Empire games and gone on to this new 3 player game called "Rock Band" featuring a vocal aspect (From the Karaoke games) and Guitar aspect (from the GH games) and a Drum aspect which is new. all together this is going to cost $215 after standard tax. . .wow. . .I think this is a neat idea. . .but will be a terrible flop. I can't see many people sinking $215 in an "iffy" never before done game.

although R.O. has left the GH stage, the other producers of the game have signed such artist that have been playing hide and go seek with the previous games such as Led Zeplin, ACDC and Mettalica. They promiss gameplay will be the same, with the possibility of online multiplayer.

Truth be told. . .I will pass on the Rock Band scene until I win the lottery. . .and will most likely get GH3 just for Mettalica.

Just an update for anyone else who is simi into these games.

I'll stick to DDR.

GHero wasnt everything people said it was, and i know Band is owned by MTV and has a crazy list of artists but seriously, a guitar is fun... drums might be. but do you want to play bass? do you want to sing? is this something you would invite 4 other ppl over to do?

There is no Bass, it's stricktly 3 players.

droxer is a good guitarist IRL. . .but sucks at Guitar Hero. . .I am a drummer IRL. . .which of course. . .never gets credit from guitarist due to the laws of nature. . .however I am incredibly good at the game.

So a Guitarist IRL watching a Drummer kick his butt in a Guitar game is bitter sweet to say the least.

However I will probably feel the same way when some Singer picks up the new 4 Electrical Pad drum set for Rock Band and kicks my butt. So I have to suck it up while I can.

Well, there is a bit of a difference to playing the GH controller and a real guitar but I am willing to bet there will little difference for the drums.
(By the way, played bass for years IRL)

If by little difference you mean. . .from a 4 piece drum set. . .then no. However I don't think I've ever seen a 4 piece set.
