I love how characters won't be a set "person". They'll act on their own motives. If you make them stay up late, they'll close early or open late, maybe even not at all. And how beautiful the environments are. They mapped soil erosion to the frickin letter to make sure areas never looked the same.

I picked up Oblivion yesterday and my initial impression is that this game will be very good. The graphics are nice, the interface clean, and game play seems smooth. Reading through the short manual that comes with the game there seems to be a ton of character development more so than found in MMOs. When I play it for a bit I will throw up some updates. Typically I avoid games that don’t offer a good online component but I think this will be a nice fill-in when PS is just too frustrating to play. The best part is that I can play at my own pace not feeling I have to power level just to keep up with others.

If you guys can you should get on PS while you play it. I want to hear about this. So Road, I'm guessing you never tried any of the previous Elder Scrolls series? such as Morrowind.

Nope never played any of the others. I played is for about a hour after work today and I can safely say I'm impressed. I will be available on TS maybe later.

I'm picking up Oblivion tomorrow after school. Sprang and extra two dollars and I'm getting the collector's edition.

First this is a very well done game which provides a level of immersion not present in WoW. With that said it is also not very intuitive in terms of how to best create and level you character. After reading a few forums I found that I was not getting the max bonus per level which was mostly due to how I created the character and which skills I primarily use. The leveling system is completely different from games like WoW and PS and a newbie can easily make mistakes. Not sure if I will restart the character but I would hate to get to late game content and find my character is too weak to complete it.

Even though this is a single player game it may be helpful to get on TS when playing so that we can share ideas.

Agreed, someone make a TS channel. I'm really liking my character right now, but she is way to weak to do much...
