Im gonna have to go with beta on this one, Company of Heroes is the best RTS released since Starcraft, and I highly recommend it to anyone (especially you gunther!) because its a damn good game. It honestly redeemed my faith in RTS's.

I was looking for a good WWII RTS a while back, looks like this would be a fun one to demo at least. Buying is out of the question; I have way too many new games already at the moment.
The squads are one of my favorite things in DoW. That, and the fact that everything has melee and (and killing) animations , and can fire on the run (for less accuracy).

Edit: Dang, it's a Relic game. Supposing it's good (I'm sure it is, I just haven't gotten the demo yet) that would make at least three completely awesome RTS's they've made. Dawn of War, Homeworld 2, and this.

2nd Edit: I just played it, wow, it's Awesome! Graphics as good as an FPS, and, and... just wow.

/agree. this is a great game, but I can't buy a new one for the same reason. I just couldn't justify it. The video is cool. Looks like they used scenes from Saving Private Ryan to choreograph their Omaha beach assault. I did find some flaws in that video though. (yes, you knew I wold he he he). No one had a unit patch or any rank on their uniforms or helmets when they went ashore. Since they were just coming from "Garrison" duty, it is most likely they were all clean shaven prior to the beach assault. I know that gruff unshaven appearance looks cool, but I doubt anyone was unshaven on 6 June 44. The patches you do see are of an Armored unit. Omaha beach consisted of regiments of the 1st Infantry and 29th Infantry Divisions. The tanks didn't start coming ashore till about the 6th wave. Regardless it is a grea video! :D

Personally I think they didn't do Omaha Beach that well, I didn't think the demo was that great, considering they took out alot of scenes they put in the full game. If it weren't for my friend buying the full version of the game and me playing it, I wouldn't have bought the full version. I thought the demo was good, but not a 'must-buy' type thing...
