Its pretty nice game, the detail is amazing considering the size of the 3d world you have to work with.

This game is attractive. (doesn't have to worry about a sexual harassment lawsuit) I can successfully take out the empire at Vergesso Asteroids but when I get to Tatooine, it's a bust.

For the attack on Vergesso I bring
2x Frigates
5x Correllian Corvettes
3x X-Wing Squadrons
3x Y-Wing Squadrons

Tactics:
1. Draw off Tie Fighters from the Cruisers and Space Station. Destroy the Tie fighter squadrons piecemeal.

2. Attack Acclamator Class Cruiser with Y-Wing bombers supported by the rest of the fleet and then the Victory Cruiser.

3. Finally an all out assault on the Space Station insuring to target the hardpoints until they are red.

The last time I did this I ended up with 1 Frigate, 2x Corvettes & 2x X-wing fighter squadrons surviving with all enemy dead.

Next, since Tatooine is primarily a land based operation, at Hoth I create:

4x Y-Wing squadrons
4x Artillery units
6x Tank units
9x Infantry Platoons
9x Plex Soldiers Platoons

Although this is a sufficient sized force to defeat the enemy on Tatooine, I am hampered by force restricitions on the surface. I typically land as much of my force that I can which is about 20% of available land forces and then recruit the scattered indigenous forces to help out. I've located the creation points to the north and build repair and medical facilities there. No matter how hard I try, I keep getting defeated here. I use Y-wing bombers to make bombing runs whenever possible. So far, 4 Squadrons have been more than enough. Any other insights on the Tatooine fight?

Gunter, on Tatooine I sent in 4 tank squads from the north (least resistance/defense) when the shield was down I bombed the base and sent in my other tank squads (almost every unit I had)

Tell me how to bring the shields down. I've focused my attack on the shield generators but everytime I go in to do that, I draw every Storm tooper with a pistol and above down on me. It usually takes about 30 seconds to decimate my entire force and I am continually calling in reinforcements. The last fight, I lasted 22 minutes. but that includes running around killing the tuscan raiders and setting up repair points in the north and establishing guards for the reinforcement points.

what size force did you bring into Tatooine? Sounds like you were tank heavy? Please quantify.

The Day the demo came out a dev team immediately started work on a mod

Now that they have had a sample of the game engine they are making a Game mod to be in the Clone Wars Era. Should be interesting.
