Huxley

Was just reading about this game in computer gaming world. If they manage to pull this off then I think it would be the end of PS, this game sounds fantastic and much of what PS could have been considering the MMO experience SoE has.

I've known about this game for some time. And, i'm nt convinved about anything yet.
Sounded like they we're trying to like put PS with WoW with "Quests" and "Large cities."
I'll wait and see how this one turns out, but i'm not holing my breath.

That's why I say if they pull it off, I think the thing that would bring alot of appeal is that it gives forming into clans a lot more meaning. And I would say more akin to AO than WoW, the missions you get are mostly for cash, no real items or faction type rewards. The reason I say it could mean the end of PS is because the player base always seems on the tenuous side to begin with, now you throw a game out like this that promises real, meaningful rewards for large active clans and you could have a enough of an exodus that SoE would devote even fewer resources to development.

I think it sounds like crap. Don't like the sound of it whatsoever. It's WoW all over again.

I just watched the video for this game. It does look a tad like Anarchy Online. I will have to keep an eye on this one. Summer 2006 is a long way away. I recall Blizzard saying WoW would be out in June 04. They were off only by 5 months.

If it's what I'd consider a "true" MMOFPS, I'll be interested. It'll have to be for the most part PVP with a persistent world for this, and from what I've seen that's not how it'll be, but we'll just have to see. I definitely think it's time for another MMOFPS.

That's exactly what it is advertised as being, pvp with a persistent world, they're also adding some npcs to fight. Many may not know that PS was origionally supposed to have monsters to fight in addition to the PVP that would somehow help drive a player economy.

It kind of sounds like Matrix online. You get to shoot people with guns, but the battles will be one-sided when people develop / buy new, over-powered skills that instakill you. I dunno, whenever FPS games use the term PvP, it kind of sounds less like a shooter.
I kill people IRL.
