I am really looking forward to it. I like the idea of leaving the tank behind.

I really like the infantry based combat. I really miss the infantry based combat from battlefield vietnam. Even the air based maps were good for infantry because you could hide in the grass and trees. I really really miss the infantry combat =/ Im still not used to the BF2 style..

Yeah tanks are fun, but I hate when a tank whore just rolls thorugh and gets 30 kills off of your unsuspecting team. I don't want this new game to be a CS:S knockoff though.

I hope they have jungle maps...
but they probably think that would not seem special forces like enough because there's not much use for gadgets in a jungle. But I know the SAS have training in the jungle so their idea of special forces is all fake. In reality it's ability and training that make the special forces what they are, not equipment.

the mission of the US Army Special Forces is
1. Work with indigenous rebellious populations to train and ready for combat actions against a government hostile to the US.
2. Conduct Long Range Reconnaissance Operations (LRRO) in enemy rear area.

So far, in Bf2, I have blown shit up and killed people while attacking them. At no time was I either working with indigenous populations or conducing LRRO in Enemy Rear area. Not quite sure where the "Reality" you are referring to, Gorf comes into play. in a general sense, you are correct. The Equipment is ancillary.
