Well my creative application secured me a invite

May play around with it this weekend and see what I think.

Good luck with that Road. I never got a response from them. I just filled out an application for The Chronicles of Spellborn.

We'll see what this is all about if I get in.

IGN compares it to PS and WoW with a dash of guildwars.

Is Penny Arcade right about the game, does it have no dragons? http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/01/13 or http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic for today and possibly this weekend only.

How'd it run? How're the graphics? Am I using enough contractions? Was lag an issue? Is there PvP? Should I have done research on this game before asking you these questions? What'd you think of the game? DnDO > Wow? > EQ2?

I'll stop.

No PVP, unlikely there ever will be. Though I have personally not seen a dragon someone in one of the taverns was talking about fighting one so I would say yes there are. It's very different from WoW or EQ, there is no content designed to be solo though some quests can be by certain classes, it's supposed to replicate a table top session of PNP D&D so if you like D&D then you'll probably like ddo if games like WoW and EQ are more your thang then you may be disappointed. Graphics are decent, enviroments are very pretty with character models being a bit lower detail, probably on par with WoW but without the dayglow world. Lag was an issue but they make improvements with most every patch so it's gotten alot better. Virtually all of the content is instanced, there is no huge world to run across and explore though the city is very very large, no crafting or really player economy at all that I've seen but more options open up as you gain access to more of the city so who knows.

You only used the one. If you could type an entire paragraph (3+ sentences) without using any, you are a master. :)

Dreco from KG played it and really didn't like it. He said that the levels were really linear and very constricting, and that there really were not enough open areas in the game.

he is probably looking at it as if it's supposed to be a game like wow, it is not, it's supposed to be like a game of pnp D&D, like i've said before, if you like D&D then you'll like DDO, if WoW is more your thang then you'll likely be disappointed. It's definately not going to be a replacement for EQ or WoW, it's completely different but would be great for casual play with a group of friends or your old D&D buddys.

I have an account for the Stress test which runs from Thursday Morning at 7AM to Saturday night at midnight. They also sent me a spare Key Code to invite a friend along during the stress test only. If anyone is interested please post, send me an E-mail or a PM and I will send you the Key Code. I had originally offered it to Rhonnin but it would make things more difficult for him. He is already in Beta and I have since found out that the beta testers and the Stress testers will operate on different servers. So I can not join Rhonnin or anyone else who may have a beta account. But if someone would like to join me, let me know.
