Stargate Troubles?

Postby Valkyrie » Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:40 pm

Now this is what ive kinda read online, but a Forum Admin from a Stargate Forum site reported 4 days ago (1/21/2006) that the game is cancelled and expect a press release. Now this was the Forum the Main Site used as a Forum so it holds some weight

Now its true it might verywell be cancelled but then again its probably not considering how much support has been put in it thusfar......and not to mention the Stargate Fanbase.

Besides if it is true, doesnt mean it will be dead. Some games have been cancelled only to be picked up 6 months later, and sometimes years unfortunatly. But I still have to be skeptical because it was reported the game was only a month from beta.

Still no news from Namco or Perception, so without their words cancellation is still a rumor. People even have a petition going, what the heck is going on ^.^

Ok here it goes

Perception has all but completed the game but they do not have a publisher or anyone who can distribute it. So the game is gonna sit unused unless it can get distributed. Namco sorta supported it for awhile but because of the Trouble with Jowood(orginal Publisher) and Perception(Developer) other developers are sorta shakey to hold up Alliance.

Now MGM who holds the licence to Starage was kinda shakey on supporting Alliance in the First place. But behind the scenes they made a deal with "Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment" to make something much different. They never truely put the full weight behind Alliance because they with a Developer Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment are making a Stargate MMO.........

A stargate MMO screams completely instanced missions, imagine your self in the gate room with 50 other people forming groups to go through the gate on your mission, lagged to hell you will be, L33t gaming rig you must have.

Sounds sweet. since most of the adventures that SG-1 goes on the instances will almost all have to be outdoors ones.
