Just got an open beta invite email today and I don't have a fileplanet sub, I think they are sending them to anyone who did the stress test thing.

You will be sailing in a ship that requires a substantial crew depending on much you build it up. You are the Captain of said ship as is everyone in the game--a captain of their ship. It is assumed that NPCs are sailing your ship and if you pan your view down close to the deck you can see veryone just hanging around waiting for a battle to happen. You control who you target, firing your guns, raising and lowering your sails (to increase/decrease speed), turning the rudder (watch the wind direction) and anything else you would need to do to fire and maneuver your ship.

What I would like to see, if we can get a bunch of us all together in this game is for a pack of Enforcers to all run together (preferrably column formation) and hunt down some enemies to get in a huge ship to ship or fleet to fleet battle. Even a 6v6 battle would be fun. /Aargh!

Rhonnin, I hope they send me an invite. =(

If I know my dumbass school computer would run it, I'd pre-order it right now from your testimonials.

EDIT:

Going through their forums, I found that my dumbass onboard video card won't run it (no surprise). Anyone got a good configuration for a gaming laptop that I can get offline?

I've looked at some Alienware, but I don't think I can get that much money from myself and family right now since college and my spring break trip next year.

Trying it out right now. Just got home from VMI and I was finally able to cut that patch download from 40 hours to 6 from my home network. :p Too many people downloading porn at school...

Anyways, rolling a Pirate first to test out the game and see if it'll run on my POS machine...will report back.
