Infinity

Infinity is an open-ended game in which you control a spaceship throughought the entire galaxy, trying to make a name for yourself. You connect to an online server on which thousands of people are playing, 24/7. The game does not stop when you log off, but continues to evolve: it is a persistent universe. The game mechanics do not emphasize any particular gameplay style. Combat, trade, exploration, social relationships.. you are free to choose your own carrier path and goals. The only limit is your own imagination!

Infinity is not a traditional role playing game. Although all players are expected to act in concordance with their avatar's motivations, there are no classes or skills to restrict your choices. Combat between spaceships is in true real-time, and the outcome is determined by your own intelligence and reflexes. Forget turn-based action and experience the great excitement of a first person experience!

It's two years away from a playable release, games can change a lot in that time.

I wish someone would pick up the license for raider wars, I beta tested that way back in the day and it was awesome, would be perfect for tE too.

I've been looking forward to Infinity for a while. It'd be different if it hadnt been in development since 05. I like a game developer that takes it's time in creating their games, because it likely means that it'll be more polished upon release. My only gripe is that it's going to be like Eve where you cant leave your ship to explore planets and kill enemies. I'd kill for a game like that, but supposedly SWG: Jump to Lightspeed does just that, so I might have to check it out.

I really enjoyed Eve, I love the space opera type of games and ship to ship combat, if I had the money I'd definitely have a sub to it now.

I'm still playing Eve. I really don't have the urge to explore planets in Eve though, there's just too much other shit to do. I've played it for a little over a year now and am still learning new stuff.
