BF2142 is getting close

Postby roadrunner » Thu Aug 17, 2006 8:16 am

So this thread is to collect how much interest we have regarding BF2142. I have been MIA a bit playing CoV and doing home stuff and want to game with my amigos again.

Fileplanet has announced the beta is near and if you are a subscriber you are eligible. I put a link on the main website page.

In my opinion, the only way to be active in a game like BF2142 is to run your own server. This gives us a place to call home, the ability to kick the problem children, and build a solid group regulars who may eventually join us.

Granted no final decision will be made until we actually play the game but who is leaning toward it with enough interest to contribute to a server? Based on the experience from BF2 the hardest part is keeping the server full so when tE log on they can play on our server. The increased cost may reduce the number of servers and thus help the situation.

Even though our first experience was mixed I would also like to play competitively if we get involved in BF2142 but we would have to choose the ladder carefully.

So.....

After seeing the advertisement on Fileplanet (subscriber) I reactivated the newsletters. They had been turned off for some reason. Hopefully I will be alerted when beta comes out now. I am curious. The server appears to be an obstacle until the prices come down or providers with more reasonable rates, surface.

I'm down for playing and providing financial assistance in the case of server acquisition.

hey guys, concerning game servers... I think a found a decent provider http://myinternetservices.com/gaming.php

Also, I'd be more then willing to join you guys for battlefield 2142. But what faction would you guys be on? Right now I imagine myself on the European Union side definitely with the support kit also.

Hey Backus,

Do you join a faction when you create you player? That is different from BF2. Is there a good site to get more info about new stuff coming?

I take back what I said, you probably won't be forced to join a faction, but yes there's a great site just give me a moment to find it.
