BF2142 Unlocks

Which unlocks are you working on and why?

I picked up the nades and two stamina boosts first. I sprint all the time and anything that helps that out I need. I don’t think they are game changing but I do notice a little improvement. Next I picked up the defib. Now I have two unlocks not used and don’t know which way to go.

I went support. I have the Heavy MG, Portable Shield, EMP grenades, Sentry drone, and Advanced Ammo Hub.

The heavy MG is amazing!

I went support and I got everything, all I can say is that the shotgun is near useless...

I love the combination of the Recon Lambert, cloaking, and APM. I received a multiple explosive pins and both my bronze and silver badges in one round. The key is first to play on a server that has FF off because if not you cannot control the friendly soldiers who are drawn to the red skull and crossbones. The Gibraltar map is the best for this kit as it has many pinch points. The cloaking device does not hide you but does allow you to sprint across areas where you may be fodder for snipers. Up close is really does little but at a distance it will help keep you alive.

The biggest problem with recon is that it does not excel in titan battles. Also you get very few teamwork points so you have to get enough kills/pins to offset it. I almost have enough time to get the silver badge at which time I will switch to support.

The next unlocks I am working on is engineer. I think I will start with the AVR branch. My plan is to leave support for last as I can do pretty well with just the standard stuff.

Not sure how long BF2142 will hold my interest but having fun with it as of now.

One thing I notice about 2142 over BF2 is that the game play is a lot more fun, the fact that the demo servers are still full all the time says tons.
