You can read all the other stuff in this article but the last paragraph was most intresting. I hadn't heard this before.

One movie that's temporarily off the drawing board is the Jackson-produced Halo. The videogame adaptation project was indefinitely shelved after Universal and 20th Century Fox pulled their financing, citing rising production costs and Jackson's unwillingness to take a pay cut.

That is too bad. :(

You'd think Micro$oft would through some cash at it... I know I'd see it... I think a Jackson Halo movie would PWN.

Yeah, I was looking forward to that Halo movie. It's ridiculous they cut it, they ought to know that anyone who ever played the game (a sizable percentage of America) would go see it, just because it's called Halo. The fact that Peter Jackson would be directing it would just be icing on the cake.

The fact that Jackson is willing to put his name on the movie should really show people something, I doubt he'd be willing to do the movie if it was going to blow (as most video game movies do)

I bet Micro$oft will pick up the bill...

I don't think the movie companies have anything against the movie itself. I think Peter Jackson's ego and apparent greed is starting to chaff the movie execs. Just like what the main article was about, Jackson wants to do The Hobbit with the same company who he is currently sueing for more money. Personally if someone was taking me to court and then still trying to do more business with me I would think that they need their head examined.

From what I had read a month ago that suit is about some questionable accounting practices by New Line and not about getting more money.
I guess though that when you go from doing movies like "dead Alive" to "The Lord of the Rings" your allowed a bit of an ego inflation.

I want to point out that I ain't taking the movie execs side, I am just stating their case. With the exception of him doing The Hobbit. The fact that he still thinks New Line will let him do it, while a lawsuit is still pending is incredible.

Peter Jackson was producing it, not directing it
