Any ideas what server the few us will be playing on? I am kinda torn because I would love to play on a pvp but world pvp can be frustrating as WoW has shown us.

I need to look at the PvP ruleset before I decide what type of server. I also need to know what the death penalty with PvP is. If I lose XP every time I die in PvP I will probably say no-thanks to it. Being ganked is one thing but losing a ton of XP along with it would lead me to delete the character. Also with the tombstone system the way it is camping someone corpse will be too easy. I have not tried the Beta PvP server so I am unsure how any of it works.

I do know that I will create a cleric as my main toon as I typically play a healer class and I like the longevity of the class and its mix of casting plus melee. While it will never be a DPS monster I will be incredibly tough to take down. I like the Blood Mage but it was a little too squishy for my taste. For races I know that cleric is not available for one of the groups (the one with orcs and goblins) and I will most likely create a human in one of the others. I like how attributes can be distributed with the human and none of the other non-human races works well for what I want.

I still think the game is a little buggy and it is being pushed out a little too soon but nothing that can't be fixed in a few months.

I'm almost positive you don't lose exp for a pvp death, not sure what the looting rules ended up being though.
I agree on it being pushed out too early, last night I submitted probably 10 bug reports and about the same in quest feedbacks to correct spelling, grammar, broken quests and other inconsistencies.

The PVP rules.

Hi everyone-

Here it is, the much awaited announcement of the specific rulesets. We apologize for not getting this to you sooner, but there were some things we needed to nail down that took some time.

Free for all server:
Minimum level 7
20% soft level difference (explained below)
15% coin loot
PvE item durability is disabled on ability activation and PvP death causes a chance for each equipped item to take a large hit
Releasing your spirit after a PvP death takes you to your bind point. You will not drop a corpse.

Team server:
Minimum level 7
20% soft level difference
15% coin loot
Durability is no different than a PvE server
Releasing your spirit drops a corpse (with no experience loss) and transports you to the nearest altar
Defensive targeting and grouping is restricted

The teams

Shadows of Kaerellun

Dark Elf
Kurashasa
Varanthari
Orc
Goblin
Vulmane
Varanjar
Lesser Giant

Order of Alurad

Wood Elf
Raki
Dwarf
Halfling
High Elf
Half Elf
Qaliathari
Mordebi
Gnome
Kojani
Thestran Human

We have support for additional teams, but we feel this is the best initial setup that supports the content and has people able to find opponents from a fairly low level.

The soft level difference means, while your ability to attack someone above the minimum level is unrestricted, if you are more than 20% of their level higher than them, they suffer no penalty and you gain no reward.

The percentages are easily adjustable and we will be enabling coin banking for PvP servers.
