The Joys of parenting.

A place to just hang out.

The Joys of parenting.

This morning I was sitting at the computer in the living room. My 2 year old daughter walked in from the Family room wearing nothing at all and said, “Daddy, Poopoo!”. Now this may seem like an extraordinary thing for a toddler to do, but I’ve kind of gotten used to it. She does it almost every day now.

I got up from my chair to collect her clothing and bring her upstairs to get dressed. I found her clothes in the middle of the floor in the family room and her diaper was on the floor between the coffee table and the couch. I picked up the diaper and inspected the interior. Much to my chagrin, I observed remnants of where a chunk of my daughter's finest poo had once rested. I wondered to myself, ‘Where is it now?’ That is when I caught sight of a large chunk of her shit sitting on the couch. I got some paper towels and picked it up ever so gingerly along with her diaper and clothing. While I was doing this, she hopped up on the couch to sit down. Naturally she had poo smeared all over her backside. So I grabbed her and headed upstairs for a bath.

When i was a kid - and i know that im only 26 now so stfu old people! - i vividly remember a diaper made of some manner of towel and a row or 2 of duct tape around my waist to keep it tight. Not to my skin, thankfully, but ghetto non the less.

just saying.

We don't use those type of diapers any more. We use Pampers with velcro-type fasteners. They are easy to disable for a 2 year old.

Yea, I'm pretty certain she wouldn't have gotten off a diaper that was duct taped on. :)
