I have been interested in this game for some time as well, Damaen. Will you go Order or Destruction? I kind of like the look of Destruction; Greenskins, Chaos and Dark Elves.
I like the look of:
Dark Elf, Disciple of Khaine &
Chaos, The Chosen
I subscribed for beta a long time ago and never got a response.
EDIT: I was just listening to their Q&A. They have a lot of good things going for them in this game. Mythic did a great job in Realm v. Realm Combat (PvP) Their "Battle Ground" area is not a set apart area where you can access from a major city, but an RvR area built right into the map. You may need to pass through some of these zone to access other areas of the map; thereby subjecting yourself to hostile enemy (player) attacks.
Mythic does an excellent job at crafting. From Dark Age of Camelot, I found their crafting system to be the best of any MMORPG that I have ever played. The problem with DAoC was its lack of End Game Content. According to the Q&A I just listened to they apparently have a lot of stuff planned for the End Game.
They are initially looking at a Level cap of 40. DAoC was 50 originally and then they raised it over time. Also, they plan to incorporate a new set of armor and weapons every 5 levels. You can perform various quests like many of the other games we've participated in that provide you with quests. You can get this armor through PvE, PvP or through Instances.
The number of folks in a party is 6 and you will be able to put together larger "Raid Group" type parties.
If you are looking for large scale PvP, this will be the game to get into. I'm sure this game will have a much better PvP system than WoW. I also get the impression that they are not going to put as much into the PvE aspect of the game that WoW has done. If that is the case, many folks may not remain for very long in the game. This game is more for people who enjoy RvR or PvP.
You can "level" up your Guild too. This seems like a fascinating aspect of the game. Where your guild is assigned a level and as the members of the guild progress, the guild progresses. AS the guild progresses it unlocks benefits like houses, banks and heraldy items.
Let me know Damaen. I'm in.
EDIT2: I just pre-ordered the game. Therefore I am in Open Beta. Sign up for open beta is 8/15/08 and preorders ship on 9/16/08.
EDIT3: Dual Targeting system. You can have a hostile targeted who you are dealing damage to and a friendly targeted who you may provide favorable actions to like heals and buffs.
