Pretty nice RTS demo for you fans of that type of game. I downloaded it from Fileplanet

It's okay... I'd really like a skirmish mode, the campaign is kinda weak...

I did download this and have played it 4 or 5 times. Although it is entertaining at first--figuring out how to play, these kind of games eventually lose their flair after a while. Same with AOE series.

They lose my interest pretty fast. I would love to see a well done game based on the Avalon Hill squad leader series. I miss my 10-3 SL.

Honestly, if I want to go play a good RTS...

Starcraft.

I'm with Monkey on that one, Starcarft. This RTS didn't hold my attention for very long though.

Road, I would fly out to Detroit to play Squad Leader with you!! :D I own two copies of the original SL, GI Anvil to Victory, Cross of Iron, Crescendo to Doom, Paratrooper and one other that escapes me. I never got into ASL. The Basic game was enough to keep me engrossed for hours and days even.

I liked to make my own scenarios. My favorite home-made scenario pitted a Company of Waffen SS defending along a ridge using hidden initial emplacement supported by a Platoon (4) of PzKw VI (Tigers) against a full Battalion of US Mechanized Infantry (M3 Halftracks & almost 400 Infantry) and a Company (16) Sherman tanks.

I only fought that scenario against a human once. My oponent was an Avid AH/SL fan for most of his adolescent and young adult life as was I. He was an Airborne Ranger Qualified Infantry Officer and combat veteran of "Operaion Justify My Paycheck" the incursion into Panama to locate General Manuel Noriega in 1989.

Anyway, I Played the German and he played the US. in the opening few rounds of the game, He had 16 burning wrecks of what used to be Sherman tanks and I lost one Tiger because I got cocky. His dismounted Infantry slowly turned into ground beef as they entered the meat grinder of MMGs and LMGs. He had one sortie of P-47 Thunderbolts that took out my Company CP. I lost 10 soldiers in all (less than 8%) and his combat strength dropped to 50-60% in no time at all.

I still have all my gaming stuff from that. I am hoping for a boy. (wife is pregnant by the way) and will one day teach him how to play!!!
