Haha gunther I would have to spend a month trying to understand the ton of rules associated with SL and all the expansion. I think my brother has my copy of it and the three expansions. I can only recall three full games which I was able to finish. Two of them were against my brother. Both of these mysteriously ended when my cat choose to jump on the board when my brother was in imminent doom. The third game was against a fairly strange friend of my brothers which lasted over a week. I can’t remember why we stopped playing but it was a balanced fight with nobody in clear advantage.

My favorite game from Avalon Hill was the Bismarck. I spent many nights trying to find that darn battleship. I lost the Hood several times but the Ark Royal was always around to save the day.

My first AH game was Bismark. I never got to play it against anyone. I wish I had. But i did play SL a ton!!!! and yes, Towelie, I put a lot of thought into those battles.

Axis and Allies is fun but it's one over the world. 1:World

Squad Leader is 1 Hex : 40 Meters. Each counter represented anwhere from one individual leader to a rifle squad or an individual tank, artillery piece or machine gun.

Panzer Leader is 1 Hex : 200 Meters. Each counter represents a platoon.

I also owned Tobruk and submarine. Submarine was a good game but it required honesty so playing with my brother was out. I also owned panzer leader. After all this talk I am going to dig up my old games and see which ones my brother didn't take when he helped me move.
