Staw Wars: Battlefront 2

Postby BCoop » Thu Nov 03, 2005 6:47 pm

I know that the original was fun but kind of a letdown (GodJoey's hacks got REALLY annoying after awhile), but Battlefront 2 is supposed to bring awesome changes to the franchise, including battles in space, boarding other ships, Jedi, etc.

Who will be picking it up?

It looks pretty nifty so I had thought to pick it up at some point but I just got this in e-mail so wont have time for another game.

This will be useless to most of you, but me and Sage at least have picked up this game. Both on release day as I understand. He seems to like it, but I haven't installed it yet b/c I had a busy week with school.

SW:BF1 was a staple at LAN parties for me, but it was rather annoying to get to work on some systems. Hopefully Battlefront 2 will be better, it's designed for larger battles, and, I know, has bigger levels and the ability to change your class on the field.

I've been playing old-school Panzer General lately, but I'll probably pick up Battlefront 2 this weekend.

I bought it the day it came out

I say its around a 8/10

Its got the same basic system, but the bots are smarter they can actually jump, plan things out a bit, focus. Space battles are great but, the capship turrets really are odd, because they do not conencide with their movie counterparts. Its alot better then its predecessor.

Make sure you post a review. I am curious about it. Noticed that it is PVE only .

Yes, I doubt you would find PVP in DDO, it's meant to simulate a game of table top D&D really. I just installed it last night then my isp went down so I didn't get to play but I did play a bit of the alpha at a friends house and my impression is that if you are into games like WoW then DDO probably wouldn't appeal to you. First Wow, EQL, etc... have much higher level caps, in D&D level 20 would be considered an epic level so it's a very different animal.

I prefer Battlefront II over any other Battlefield type game I've tried. I don't know how much of that is the game itself and how much is my attachment to the star wars franchise, but I like it. Single player got annoying, and space battles are somewhat limited, but I've enjoyed it.

Kinda off topic, but what's the deal with Star Wars Galaxies right now? I figure it'll take a while before all the changes are worked out... but how is it?
