Ideally, I Like to keep 90% of my Hard Drive Free. But realistically that is next to impossible. My drop dead do not pass line is 75% free. I have 2 160GB SATA Hard Drives for 320Gb of memory. I currently have 258 Gb Free for 80%. My point, Rhonnin was that in order to play all the games that you supposedly have on your computer and would like to play and maintain 75-90% Free you'd have to have a lot of Hard Drive space.

My nephews were installing games onto my mom's computer which only has 60Gb to start with. They got it to 12% Free and it now takes forever to process anything. I told them they have to delete enough software to get it to 75% free but my mom won't ruin their fun. Although she won't tell the boys to delete anything, she continues to complain how slow her machine is.

I have a single 160 gig drive, well I also have the old 15 gig drive from my old machine installed but I don't actually use it for anything. any way, I have installed and play DDO, EQ2, EQ1, Matrix online, PS, BF2, BF2demo, NWN, Halflife 2, CSS, SWG, Tribes Vengeance, America's Army, and 3 or 4 demos that I'll remove when I'm done playing with them. In addition I have various creative suits, macromedia has fireworks, dreamweaver, flash, and freehand, Adobe has PScs2, illustrator, indesign, pagemaker, and image ready. Add to that various folders filled with hi res stock photos and renders plus project folders for the various skins, templates, UIs, sigs, banners, brochures, etc... I'm working on for various people and you would think there'd be nothing left but I only have about 70 gigs in use currently. When I finish a project all the files get burned to disc and it's removed from my HD, same with games, if I bought another I wanted to play I'd likely remove SWG or some other I haven't played in a while. And no, my machine doesn't take forever to start up.

My machine takes ~20 seconds to go from power on to when I can start using XP. Maybe a little less

AND I can multitask pretty good, I can play WoW, listen to iTunes, surf the net, and DL stuff all at the same time with no noticeable slowdowns of any kind.

Why You want 75% free? windows needs 15% free max (to defrag) I have 2X 300 gig HDD 1 80gig. and 75% is taken up. (allot Movie's game's)Hell my music folder alone has 23gigs of mp3s. Also games 87gigs , with all patchs/mod's ive collected amount to another 5 gigs.
