Warbirds 2006

If you like Flight Simulators mixed with historical WWII dog fighting you will enjoy this game. This evening between 11PM and the writing of this post, I shot down 24 British Spitfires and Hurricanes in my ME-109G fighter over the English Channel. I took about 376 hits before I eventually went down. I was not shot down, I ran out of fuel and had to bail out. Fortunately as a Prussian Knight of the Sky, I landed in German Occupied France so that I could go up and do it again. I had several passes at the enemy fighters that ended up with my taking out two of them in one pass. When I first started playing this game, the NPC fighters ripped me apart before I could engage any of them. It almost seemed futile for me to engage. After playing a bit more, I've developed a knack for modulating my throttle and lining up the shot based on what direction the enemy fighter was heading in. So far the aircraft I enjoy flying are Spitfire XV, Me-109G, P-51D, F4U-F and A6ME Zero. I tried a few bombing runs flying a B-17. The cool thing about those is that you can jump to the different MG positions and shoot at the Messershmidts as the whiz by. If you are interested and would like to get in on this free Online Flight sim, go to Blah

Let's put a squadron together.

Warbirds is free now? I played it a bit back in the mid 90's, at that time the physics were so realistic and the controls so complicated you almost had to really know how to fly to play the game. That was also when alot of games were switching from hourly rates to monthly fees but I think warbirds was still hourly.

Ok Ok, Rhonnin, you got me. It is free initially and I used up my free time figuring out how to fly and not get killed. Once your free time is up, you have to pay to play. It cost me $19.95 for a valid key once my one month free play was over. and then $13.95 a month for online pley.

Nevermind than, I'm already paying for PS and WoW, that's too much as it is, sorry. Speaking of which, I need to start playing PS.
