My bad, it was a IV not III, still not exactly a great chance of it happening, but it was a better chance. Yes, it has T-34/76 and T-34/85.

List of tanks ingame:
Russian:
KV-1S
IS-2
SU-76
T-60
T-34/76
T-34/85
German:
PzrKmpf III
PzrKmpf IV F1
PzrKmpf IV F2
Tiger 1E
PzrKmpf V or as they call it Panther G

I prefer infantry battles as well Gunther, but there's nothing like a great armor fight once in a while. Also, remember, the armor combat isn't as realistic for gameplay purposes until they bring out AT guns when they're supposed to(hopefully!) change it.

Good Stuff, beta. Like Damaen said, "Infantry Battles = Sex" 8)
PZKW = Panzervankampfwagon. That is the entire word that Germans use for tank or the shortened version of Panzer. Panzer litterally means Armored. I believe the 'vankampf' means fighting and wagon lends itself to mobility, moving, "wagon" or truck. Armored Fighting Vehicles.

Using a Pzkw IV is respectable too. That can stand up to a T-34. The T-34/85 is still a bit of a match for it.

With all this talk of Armored fighting, you could replicate the Battle of Khursk, GErman Summer Offensive of 1943 in order to eliminate a Russian Salient near Dnepropetovsk. To the Germans it is known as Operation Zitadele (Citadel). The largest Armored action in the history of mankind. It was Hitler's plan, but Zhukov knew of its existence at least a week prior to its execution, therefore it was doomed to failure and fail it did. The Russians had miles and miles of Anit-Armor and Anti-Personnel minefields set up all along the salient especially at the neck. The northern German Pincer never made a penetration.

"How many people even know where Kursk is? It's a matter of profound indifference to the world whether we hold Kursk or not...Why do we want to attack in the East at all this year?" -- General Heinz Guderian

"You're quite right. Whenever I think of this attack my stomach turns over." -- Adolf Hitler

"In that case your reaction to the problem is the current one. Leave it alone!" --General Heinz Guderian.

He should have listened to him. 8)

Alright, finally the Soviets have their half-track! New patch came out today, also came out with a GREAT infantry only map, Danzig I think it is. Urban combat, Soviets attacking the Germans, a total complete slaughter for both sides and the most confusing thing in the world with players that know what they're doing. You never know who has control of a building unless its an objective, and even than your still worried. People get jumpy, accidents happen, machine guns and snipers hidden seemingly everywhere, is it the enemy coming up the stairs or a friendly? and in either case does he know your there?

I love it! They also fixed some bugs an added a German tank into the mix, really it just replaces a type of tank on some maps. Also took out MP41's on certain maps where the German's did not have them during the battle. Once you get it add me to your buddy list guys.

Awesome Road. I know for a fact the name Gunther is taken, I've seen and spoken to him ingame, good guy, and a real German lol. Of course, you might be able to use [tE]Gunther because its slightly different with [tE] in front of it and the Gunther I saw had the little German symbol above the u. : but sideways, or something similar.

Thanks for the heads up, Beta. that little symbol over the u is called an Umlaut.

The game did not come today. I hope it comes tomorrow. Do we get to choose which side we fight on or is it random placement?

Yes, you get to choose what side your on. But some servers have an auto-balance or have it set so one side has more than the other on certain maps. You can change sides really easily between rounds because no one starts on a side at the beginning of a round, so winning teams can get split up pretty easily, far from always, but they can be. By that I mean teams consistently winning.

Well that is good. I do know that many battles on the Eastern Front were seriously lopsided. Generally there were 3 Russians to every 1 German soldier especially in Stalingrad. I've read some accounts of Pzkw IV crews taking out scores of Russian T-34s, Support guns and AT guns and taking some damage but getting out of the fight alive. I believe the Germans were better trained, had better equipment and a higher elan. I would not call the Russian conscripts stupid, but the leadership did not care what their subordinates had to tell them, therefore they fought blind and moved according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or Battle Drills. The Russians relied on Artillery in winning a battle. They would pound the crap out of an area with arty and then move across it on line destroying any survivors along the way. The Germans on the other hand oeerated using the "Art of Maneuver"--a philosophy developed by Clausewitz in the 19th century.

That's one I need to read, Clausewitz. Haven't read him yet, but he's one of the most relevent to our time period. I prefer to play as the Germans because, frankly I think they have better equipment as well, but still, in game that T-34/85 is a real killer for any Panzer, even the Panther G, if in the hands of an truly experienced tank crew that communicate with VOIP in game. It's horrifying to see the damage just one experienced tank crew can cause going up against inexperienced tankers, myself included. MG42, best MG during the war in my opinion, its awesome ingame, just sucks having to change the barrel so often and you run out of ammo so freaking fast. That is the MG that teaches you to tap and arc, if you hold it down for even a second 20 rounds or so are gone.
