Americas Army 2.8 Released

Postby Liquidsmoke » Thu Dec 21, 2006 6:30 pm

Well Americas Army has released another version. This version wasn't packed to the rim with stuff, but it will make the game live longer now. This release they added the UnrealMapEditor. Thats right maps will be flying around now, but to make them official maps to gain honor they will have to pass through the Dev team. I dunno I guess I am going to give map creation a shot, and I've always had some bad ass ideas for maps for AA.

Looking forward to see what people come up with map ideas. I've kinda burned myself out on it for a while again. Told ya it doesn't take long for me to go through it every now and then. :P

Yeah I hear the burned out part. I usually play for a good solid 3 mo then quit for a couple then get re-addicted. Hey what else can I say I get more kills in a AA session then I do in a PS session. :P

Although the recent bugs are pissing me off. The 2.8 patch doesn't detect my current 2.7 version so I have to reinstall the whole goddamn thing.

Yea, everytime I play one of these versions I get so pissed off. I go through all the training and keep shooting till I hit expert and know what I am doing and then as soon as I play on a live server I kill a friendly (unintentionally) and can never get on another server again--ever.

As in you never want to play or it doesn't let you? There are servers that let ROE violators regain their lost honor, but they're hard to find. It takes a while to get used to who you're supposed to be shooting. Best thing to do is find a map where the enemy blatantly stands out from your team. (IE, Pipeline where your teammates are wearing thermal white BDU's and the terrorists are wearing colors.)

That's it. I like the game, I just can't find the servers that let you back in.
I always kill at least one friendly when I first start playing an FPS.

LoL no worries Gunther. When I started playing way back I use to TK a lot. For awhile I couldn't play on the l33t servers. Also you can load the game in single play and summon all the different char models in the game to learn the difference, and also running solo means you can learn maps like the back of your hand.
