I tried to download the client right after I downloaded CoH the other day and it said the file contained corrupted files so I deleted it.

I will be away all day so figured I'd give it another shot. D/Ling now.

EDIT: I originally posted this about an hour ago. Now I've been looking at forums nad VG websites. This reminds me so much of EQ. I am so tempted to just throw way....no! I won't do that.
Grrrr! I hate you guys!

I will get into Beta as a fileplanet person. they took me into Burning Crusades. I will make a Lesser Giant Warrior, Lesser Giant Dread Knight or a Halfling Cleric. Before I stopped playing EQ I was double boxing an Ogre Warrior and a Halfling Cleric. I botted the cleric and at a push of a button he would heal me fat Ogre butt.

The characters I have right now:
Varathari Shaman
Vulmane Dread Knight
Raki Disciple
Khurasasha Ranger
Dark Elf Rogue
Gnome Psionisist
Goblin Monk
Varathari Druid
The top 3 I play regularly.
The Dread Knight is pretty cool and not very similar to the Shadow Knight in EQ, one of the things I really like about VG is that the lines between good and evil are not all that clear. Many of the races had been at each other's throats in the past but with the threat of the undead invasions and incursions by extra planar beings fragile alliances keep a somewhat uncertain peace.
when they went to Beta 4 they added a pvp server but I haven't tried it out yet, I would suspect pvp to be similar to how it was in EQ1. I'll likely be on the RP server when it launches anyway.

Vanguard as good as everyone saying it is? I know several people in my WOW guild that are in the closed beta at the moment, and they're hyping it up quite a bit. Im in the LOTR MMO closed beta at the moment, and it's basically an improved version of WOW.

Well, lets hope they hold off release until marchish, I don't see how they could pull off a january release with the number of bugs and broken stuff still in the game right now, unless they have some massive patch the likes of which mortal man has never seen before that will magically make it perfect.
But as far as the game its self, yes it is, it's a lot more challenging than eq2 or WoW and the game play is fun at most every level. I've had some lvl 9 groups that were as exciting as some of the raid level encounters in eq1.
I've always played healers for the most part but the whole "whack a mole, sit away from combat and keep everyone healed" style of play is really tedious, it's not like that in VG, in fact all of the traditional classes have somewhat of a different spin to them.

My guess is with open beta starting they are hoping for a Feb release. Not sure if I want to play another MMO but I will give it a chance. I like that the sound of the classes not being slotted for certain types of jobs. I also play a healer in the MMOs but find it can get boring being one dimensional. WoW forced a lot of priests to be heal bots in high level content which tended to get old.

Seeing I always end up with a healer I will most likely create whatever is the closest for the beta.

How many tE are looking to beta it? We should stick together as it is much easier to get over the learning curve that way.

BTW Rhonnin. A RP server? Say it isn't so. So which one is you?

I'm in. As long as Fileplanet gives me a key.

I like what Rhonnin said about the Dread Knight. I may go that route. My first EQI character was an Ogre SK. Cross between a Warrior and a necromancer. Didn't have the Strength of a Warrior nor the mana of a necro----WEAK!!!
