Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst

Postby cApNhOwDy » Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:36 pm

Just wanting to throw this out there, me and PanzerFaust (Valar) joined a private server on Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst. If you ever played PSO on the Dreamcast, Gamecube, or Xbox, you know that it is addicting and fun like crack cocaine. This private server is free to download, free to play, and I honestly think that there are more people on this private server than there are on the official server. This one's better for a few ways: It's a worldwide server, as opposed to the region limited official one, it's got more gameplay options, and plus the official servers are having this problem where they disconnect the players after about 30 minutes. Add to that the fact that they havent updated the official servers since August 2006, they do nothing about the hackers, and they're still charging $9 a month for it, it's obvious that the private server is the better one. You guys have nothing to lose except some harddrive space and the bandwidth to download it. It'd be kickass fun if we could get some guys on Vent to play this with us.

Also note that if you download this, I highly recommend you use a controller. The keyboard controls are crap :?

PSO Blue Burst: http://198.176.8.126/PSOBBUS/Setup.exe
PSO Updater: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AIX8V40R
HostsPatcher: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U3RFHY3X

Instructions: Run PSO BB Setup, then run PSO Updater, then unzip HostsPatcher run HostsPatcher.exe then click on patch login server and patch download server. After it's installed, go here http://www.schtserv.com/bbreg.html and make a username and password. Use that to login.

If you have a controller with two joysticks, this is what I'd recommend for desired performance. Once you get into the game, press your home key to open up the menu, go to options, pad button config, custom, then here's what your controls should be for optimal performance.

I hope a couple more people join us, it was a lot of fun with just the two of us, and the more people join, the more fun (just like diablo).

I'm bumping this because I registered a team, "Enforcers". When you're in a team, if you find a red item that isnt useful to you or anyone else on the team, you trade it for a team point. If we get enough team points we can buy exclusive team missions. Now there's more reason for the rest of The Enforcers to get in on this awesome game.

Good thing you bumped this, I hadn't read it. I'll probably download everything tonight for it and join you. I remember the game was fun on dreamcast.

THANK YOU. Do you have Xfire? And you'll really want to use a controller if you didnt already see that.

Yes I have x-fire but almost never use it and no I'm not going to pay for a controller. It'll still be a bit before I get on though. Sorry.

If you have any consoles there are plenty of cheap console controller to USB converters out there for only a few bucks on eBay. I got my Playstation 2 to USB converter for $5 a long time ago, and it works perfectly for everything I've ever used, I even got a second one for my Gamecube and Xbox. Priceless combination, I'll use that Playstation controller to it's grave.
