I finally was able to log into BF2 online after playing singleplayer for a week. I haven't figured out how to fly the aircraft yet--kept crashing into the sea. Also, the idiot TKers who insist on blowing you up as your engines are warming up. It's like if they can't fly no one can't--that is plain rude.

I really like this game but you will run into that ppl like that. Some of that can be improved if you play on a good server with active admins. Once retail hits find a few good servers and stick with them. BTW i can't fly either.

My biggest issue now is that I have the itch to upgrade my system so I can play at max video settings. [smilie=armata_pdt_42.gif]

The list of servers is too long. I've been looking for the Killyourcoworkers server and can't find it. Is there way that you an enter the server name in the space provided and it will take you righ to it? If so, I will use that server to practice flying and other skills. I don't need the interference of hostile targets and TKers to learn how to fly. Today, I practiced my flying skills and not only was I able to make it away from the water on teh carrier and over the hill with the MEC forces but I actually flew around the entire battle area THREE TIMES before I crashed into the MEC runway destroying two enemy aircraft. It seems as if Gunther is learning to fly. You have to take baby steps.

Gunther roads server isn't listed because EA banned all "Hacked" servers. To practice flying just make your own server.goto multi player/create local, and there you go fly for hours.I'm of course a FANTASTIC flyer's.I mainly fly HELOS.Gunther what is the type of gun does the APC's have?also try going into controls aircraft invert the mouse so when you move your mouse up it makes your aircraft go up not down:).same with helos you get in hit W and move your mouse back.Really IT toke me 20 minutes to fly:)

Thanks Jedi. Naturally as a flyer in PS you'd be a flyer in BF2. I was successful with the fixed wing aircraft, more so than with the rotary wing. but in this game, the parameters of the playing area are such that the fixed wing is useless. you have to turn, line up your shot and take it within 5 seconds coming off the apron of the carier. You need a few more miles of maneuver space to do it right.

The APCs? I wonder which one you are talking about. I've seen the HMMWV or HUMM-V which mounts a .50 Caliber on top and a Marine LAV-25 which could mount a .50 Cal or a 25mm Bushmaster chain gun. I don't think I have fired that one yet. If you do, the cyclic rate is much slower than the .50 cal. The MEC use a Russian built BTR-70 (or -80 or -90) not sure. really hadn't noticed which model. In either case, the primary wep on top is a 12.3mm Machine gun (12.3 mm = .50 Cal). some of the armored Personnel carriers also mount small 5.56mm mini machine guns in little gun ports that fire either to the side or to the rear of the vehicle. they are only there for the infantry riding in the carrier to have something to do before he has to dismount and go to work. I have not seen the M2/M3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle which is a turreted APC and mounts both a 25mm Bushmaster and a 7.62mm coaxial MG along with a TOW missle launcher on the right side of the turret.

If this game attempted to replicate combat in the Real World, those T-90's wouldn't stand a chance against the M1. Unless the driver drives over a mine or does something stupid they shouldn't get taken out. the T-90 can not take destroy an M1 with its Main gun ammo.

I will take your advice and play with the controls.

I have been meeting with less than success on teamspeak lately. I can open up the TS and I can hear Road and beta or whomever speak when they do so, but they do not hear me. I have purchased a new mic/headset and it doesn't seem to work. My new Dell Dimension XPS tower has a slot in the Sound card in the rear for the mic as well as one in the front of the tower for the mic. I've tried in both places and it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

After you plug it into either thingy go into control panel - sound and audio devices - voice tab and click on test hardware. Sometimes my mic will stop working randomly and I have to do that to get it work again.

AHHHHHH!!!You were the one.I heard SOMETHING strange and odd but dismissed it as ingame noise.Try what Rapid said, also try to turn up your mic.I'll try to get on every morning this week at 11:30-1 or so, but I'm not sure if I can manage that.

Also, to join roads server you have to type in the IP, there are people on it, just not many or very often. The IP is kycw.flybynightops.net

While playing with Road I found out I'm okay at flying a helo in this, need practice but I'm okay. However, I still prefer to be on foot. Nothing in this game gets the adrenaline flowing in me more than running my limit, ducking behind cover with my squadmates around me(Rhonnin was with me on this point ) while there's firing going on all around the map and near us, than swinging around a corner or my cover taking out anyone there.God I love that feeling.
